Cordobés continúa su programación, fiel a su línea de fidelidad a los valores del mejor flamenco. "La Aristocracia del Flamenco" es un ciclo que por la calidad y prestigio de intérpretes de dos generaciones, convierten a Cordobés en el heredero indiscutible de los tablaos históricos más importantes en España.
Este escenario ha sido un referente de autenticidad durante más de 40 años en los que hemos demostrado, que lo auténtico, además de divertir cuando es de verdad emociona, y "La Aristocracia del Flamenco" es una gran aventura que vive el espectador al encuentro de un arte que es Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de la Humanidad.

FROM THE 7TH OF JANUARY TO THE 28TH OF FEBRUARY 2013, "In Memory of Carmen Amaya" IN THE TABLAO CORDOBES

To mark the centenary of the birth of the Somorrostro dancer, The Tablao Flamenco Cordobes presents 'In Memory of Carmen Amaya', a production of The Academy of Arts and Sciences of Flamenco.

Carmen Amaya was a universal Catalan gypsy that carried the Catalonia and Barcelona name with her art, and won public audiences and personalities from around the world.

This show recreates her dances, such as:The dance 'Por Alegrias’ (For the Joy of it) (with pants, vests, and a new sense of rhythm). The Catalans 'La Solea and The Garrotín', and 'The Jaleos Extremeños' sang,danced, and recorded with the great maestro Sabicas; an important character in Carmen Amaya’s life.

The performance will embody the great Catalan dancer, Pastora Galván, Karime Amaya, and Paloma Fantova. The dances will be accompanied by Jesus Carmona and Junco.

This show will be performing at the Tablao Cordobes everyday from the 7th of January to the 28th of February 2013.

CURRENT SHOW

The Cycles of ‘The Aristocracy of Flamenco’ faithfully reflect the commitment of The Tablao Cordobés with the ongoing search for excellence, excellence understood from different values, without which the magical charisma that contributes to the inspiration, is impossible. First, the space is small, no more than 170 people. Second, the natural sound that respects the audio levels of the footwork, guitar and voice which takes into account the theory that the sound is to music what the soul is to the spirit; and does not support technical devices or amplification. Third, the public around the stage, which is reminiscent to a family meeting or gathering.

The intimate language of flamenco, in other words its essence; needs these requirements to fully express the absolute truth.

For 42 years, The Tablao Cordobes has united a balanced mix of historical figures and the development of artistic promises with the consistent discovery of its’ youngest artists.

One of the features of our shows is the principal of joining into one several talents that stimulate inspiration through diversity. Another characteristic is the formation of a framework that brings together the theatrical aesthetic and scenic discipline that allows for a deeper language of flamenco to be performed; and to top it; the selection of the best voices and best guitars in a show in which everyone ends up being soloists.

In this edition, which will end later this year; but in The Tablao Cordobés never ends, we join together the elite in shows that will become part of history.
