El Tablao

Our history

The history of this flamenco tablao in La Rambla of Barcelona is the history of the last fifty years of flamenco. The biggest names in the history of flamenco (Camarón, Farruco, Fernanda y Bernarda, ...) took part at the opening of this tablao with the help of its founders, Luis Adame (guitarist) and his wife, Irene Alba (flamenco dancer). Cordobés is now a legendary Tablao with a well-deserved reputation amongst flamenco experts.

2010:40 Anniversary

Tablao Cordobes is celebrating its 40th anniversary. To celebrate we have programmed many events and surprises that we will be announcing throughout 2010.

Tablao Cordobes, heir to the first cabarets of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, were the first to provide a professional setting of this art, making history in flamenco spanning 40 years.

Some of flamenco’s most representative artists of the moment have passed across its’ stage.  Artists from the legendary Camarón De La Isla to the present Miguel Poveda, also from grandfather Farruco to grandson the Barullo, and from the now deceased Fernanda and Bernarda or  Chocolate to the most recent Montse Cortés and La Tana, and of course all the great historical dancers.  Other artists that have crossed this stage are Manuela Carrasco, Eva La Yerbabuena ... and large family traditions such as Israel Galvan and his younger sister Patricia Galvan ... the list is endless.

With this 40th anniversary, Cordoba claims its spot in the history of the city of Barcelona, both in the tourism industry and in the world of flamenco despite the prejudices that often drags the topic of flamenco and the Tablaos.
